The North Star Republic was a predecessor to Starfall. It existed between Deecember 1st 2023 and April 7th 2024 on Lioda.

Several members of Starfall were part of [[texas]] prior to joining Starfall. The Orodruin Caldera was chosen by 5Gigi as location for a settlement for its unique geographic characteristics. The first building, a docking tower for small ships, was completed on August 28th. From there, more buildings were made inside the volcano. The first weeks of the settlement's founding were its most active, with up to 12 active players at a time.

Most of its initial ships were donated by the player [[eyrzeke]] and some are still in use. For a time, Starfall has a seperate settlement for storing its ships, called Qatra_wasteland/qatra_parking. It was founded on September 24th by Redbubba2022, but later integrated into Starfall by Crandolf on October 20th.

On September 2nd, Flaming_Hill was renamed to Starfall. September saw a major decrease in active players for the settlement. Several large construction and infrastructure projects were started in October and November of 2024. Starfall has mainained a positive relationship with its neighbour, [[Zanthor]], led by [[Kman_the_AWESOME]]. Both settlements were increased in size following the Qatra redraw in late September.

Starfall's enitre existance was during the [[Long Peace]]. After a long period of relative inactivity, 5Gigi made a post offering to sell the settlment for 20.000 credits. [[Lonestar]] and AdroCorporation made offers. The Orodruin Caldera is now owned by Adrocorporation as a [[nation]] outpost.

== Politics ==
The internal leadership of the settlement was completely done by 5Gigi, although every player was allowed pursue their own path, with no obligation towards the settlement. The settlement was mostly focused on mining and construction, but played a small role in galactic politics. As a part of Radiance and the Ilios Alliance, ships and pilots from Starfall participated in some sieges and conflicts. Starfall had a short dispute with [[Ekatera]] over a fallen territory on [[Turms]].

All building and ship designs from Starfall had a black and purple colour pallet. Blackstone, obsidian, crying obsidian, blue & cyan terracotta and other black and dark gray blocks were used. Pearlescent froglights were the preferred light source. Starfall's building style was sometimes been associated with the nation [[Shadow]], although the two are not connected.

The settlements unique geography greatly influenced its industry and buildings. The initial docking tower was built on an island inside the volcanic caldera, with the rest of the city built in a circle around it. To the east of the center was a small, green town made for the players of Zanthor. Landing areas for large ships were to the north, while a small industrial complex were to the south. For a time when Starfall had ambitions of becoming a trade city, a potential trade tower was partially constructed to the west.

== Economy ==
Starfall had amassed considerable material wealth from mining and scavenging old settlements and shipwrecks. Two texan [[Mastodon-class]] light freighters were regularly used for various purposes. Starfall specialized in [[uranium]] enrichment, given that the resource is very common on Qatra. The settlement's financial capital was limited, relying on crating and comissions. Most of its credits were shared between 5Gigi and EchoOcelot.

Most of Starfall's military ships were donated or bought from texas. This includeded two destroyers, two frigates and a corvette. A recovered [[Anduria]] [[corvette]] was added to its arsenal on October 23rd 2024. The first building, a docking tower for small ships, was completed on August 28th. From there, more buildings were made inside the volcano. The first weeks of the settlement's founding were its most active, with up to 12 active players at a time.

Most of its initial ships were donated by the player [[eyrzeke]] and some are still in use. For a time, Starfall has a seperate settlement for storing its ships, called Qatra_wasteland/qatra_parking. It was founded on September 24th by Redbubba2022, but later integrated into Starfall by Crandolf on October 20th.

On September 2nd, Flaming_Hill was renamed to Starfall. September saw a major decrease in active players for the settlement. Several large construction and infrastructure projects were started in October and November of 2024. It was a shortlived settlement that introduced a handful of players to [[Horizon's End]]. All of its members joined [[texas]] after its deletion, end later co-founded [[Starfall]].

It was founded on September 24th by Redbubba2022, but later integrated into Starfall by Crandolf on October 20th.

On September 2nd, Flaming_Hill was renamed to Starfall. September saw a major decrease in active players for the settlement. Several large construction and infrastructure projects were started in October and November of 2024. Starfall has mainained a positive relationship with its neighbour, [[Zanthor]], led by [[Kman_the_AWESOME]]. Both settlements were increased in size following the Qatra redraw in late September.

After negotiating secession from Shadow over internal politics, texas was officially founded on January 13th 2024.

Texas remained an independent settlement for many months, and gained a reputation as a neutral, but friendly, group. Texas quickly gained infamy for its active (some called it aggressive) recruitment program, in which new players received free ships to accelerate their development. At the core of this program was the first few batches of ancillary “zekeships,” a series of vessels with an emphasis on cost efficiency; warships and trade ships alike were designed with cheap bubble shields and ion thrusters, which made them cheap while still being effective and durable.

As larger and more advanced ancillary ships were developed, and texas began to grow larger and larger, it was decided that a nation to help manage resources and recruits alike would be beneficial. On June 8th 2024, texas officially joined the nation Radiance, with special terms allowing for independence and freedom as well as the possibility of texas’ future secession.

During this time, eyrzeke took special care in training “protégés,” recruits who demonstrated exceptional ability and the maturity needed to take over governorship if the situation arose. Three such recruits were FallenXStars, a highly capable engineer; SIG130, a talented builder and ship designer; and XiJinping_, a formidable pilot and skilled fighter. After eyrzeke stepped down, SIG130 was appointed as the governor on September 16th. After playing some minor economic and anti-piracy roles, texas once again became independent, founding the nation lonestar on October 19th 2024. Since December 1st, XiJinping has served as governor of texas and the leader of lonestar as a whole.

Texas is a settlement with an oligarchic dictatorship, ruled by the governor and trusted advisers. Having settled from its more chaotic recruitment days, its regular core members have significant say in government decisions.

Kman_the_AWESOME, [[TalonStudios]] and [[Tinted_Air]] explored southeastern Qatra for a time before establishing themselves in the Basilisk Isles and founding Zanthor. They were given several "zekeships" to further advance their settlement by [[texas]] and [[Starfall]]. [[redjeanx]] later joined the settlement as well. The settlement quickly developed an industrial setup and several multiblocks.

== Architecture ==
The building in Zanthor and all of its ships use a gray, green and yellow block pallet. The settlement's natural terrain is mostly defined by a large field of soulsand and soul soil. To the west and north are beaches of obsidian and Qatra's characteristic lava-oceans.

== History ==
Several members of Starfall were part of [[texas]] prior to joining Starfall. The Orodruin Caldera was chosen by 5Gigi as location for a settlement for its unique geographic characteristics. The first building, a docking tower for small ships, was completed on August 28th. From there, more buildings were made inside the volcano. The first weeks of the settlement's founding were its most active, with up to 12 active players at a time.

Most of its initial ships were donated by the player [[eyrzeke]] and some are still in use. For a time, Starfall has a seperate settlement for storing its ships, called Qatra_wasteland/qatra_parking. It was founded on September 24th by Redbubba2022, but later integrated into Starfall by Crandolf on October 20th.

On September 2nd, Flaming_Hill was renamed to Starfall. September saw a major decrease in active players for the settlement. Several large construction and infrastructure projects were started in October and November of 2024. Starfall has mainained a positive relationship with its neighbour, [[Zanthor]], led by [[Kman_the_AWESOME]]. Both settlements were increased in size following the Qatra redraw in late September.

The internal leadership of the settlement of completely done by 5Gigi, although every player is allowed pursue their own path, with no obligation towards the settlement. The settlement is mostly focused on mining and construction, but has played a small role in galactic politics. As a part of Radiance and the Ilios Alliance, ships and pilots from Starfall have participated in some sieges and conflicts.

All building and ship designs from Starfall have a black and purple colour pallet. Blackstone, obsidian, crying obsidian, blue & cyan terracotta and other black and dark gray blocks are used. Pearlescent froglights are the preferred light source. Starfall's building style has sometimes been associated with the nation [[Shadow]], although the two are not connected.

The settlements unique geography has greatly influenced its industry and buildings. The initial docking tower is built on an island inside the volcanic caldera, with the rest of the city built in a circle around it. To the east of the center is a small, green town. Landing areas for large ships are to the north, while a small industrial complex is to the south. For a time when Starfall had ambitions of becoming a trade city, a potential trade tower was partially constructed to the west.

On July 3, the members of the nation of [[Shadow]], in response to controlling behavior from the largely-inactive in-game nation leader [[Ae0n]], seceded en masse from Shadow and established a replacement nation called [[Radiance]].

All members of the Ilios Alliance quickly responded by politically recognizing Radiance as the legitimate successor of Shadow and inheritor of its diplomatic relations, leading to the substitution of Radiance for Shadow in the Ilios Alliance's member list. The revolution also caused sudden instability and impoverishment to the members of Radiance, to which the Ilios Alliance responded with what yodabird19 described as a "Marshall Plan-like" support program, which rapidly re-established Radiance's industrial and military base.
