Shadow (at first briefly named "The Shadow Realm" ingame) was an established nation from the [[Movecraft]] server "Pirate Minecraft", and one with which she had been leagued already for several years. Over the course of the following months, Shadow would quietly develop its base in the [[Ilios System]], largely staying out of server political affairs at the time. In this period, star_litty served as Shadow's "ambassador", putting her in charge of engaging in diplomacy with other nations and groups - most notably, their planetary neighbors [[Setra Maria]] (later the nation of [[Cortesia Del Mar]]) on [[Chimgara]].

On 22 August 2022, the nation of Shadow, under the leadership of [[Ae0n]] (and informal co-leadership of the recently-admitted [[Noix444]]) declared war on the colonist nation of [[Orovika]], sparking a 40-day conflict termed the [[Shadow-Orovika War]]. This war was deeply unpopular with the bulk of Shadow's player-base, who did not wish to be in conflict with players with whom they had positive personal relationships, and resented the [[SvS]]-oriented players that Ae0n brought into the nation to wage the war, such as [[Noix444]], [[AdelieXY]], and [[FellOffBridge]].

In this time, star_litty, alongside several other members of Shadow, elected to leave the nation in-game in order to excuse themselves from conflict with Orovika, a movement which crippled Shadow's war-making capacity and forced them to the negotiating table on two separate occasions. Following a [[Shadow-Orovika War#First Attempt at Peace Negotiations|catastrophic first round of diplomatic negotiations]] between Orovika and Shadow, which were broadly perceived by both Orovikan and Shadow witnesses as a diplomatic failure on Ae0n's part, star_litty (despite being in exile) became accepted by Orovika as the primary diplomatic contact for Shadow. star_litty was able to successfully negotiate a conditional surrender for Shadow on 29 September 2023, a success which would cement star_litty's credibility as a diplomat and as a political actor on Horizon's End.

As Shadow became increasingly detached from Ae0n's legacy, and increasingly driven by star_litty and players whom she had recruited to the nation, this situation became more of an issue, especially as Ae0n would still need to be consulted on major national decisions, and would often be obstructionist towards changes that she believed deviated from her version of Shadow (despite not playing the server). This situation caused increasing dissatisfaction not only to star_litty and her leadership council, but to the whole player-base of Shadow, as it led to the impression that Shadow's players were not in control of their own nation, and indeed most of Shadow's players had never known a version of Shadow led by anyone other than star_litty.

Following months of peaceful attempts by several players in Shadow to convince Ae0n to hand over in-game leadership to star_litty (by setting the capital of the nation to [[Cicatrix]] over [[ThievesHaven]]), on 2 June 2024 Ae0n elected to log into the server specifically to strip star_litty (and [[Astrobolt]]) of in-game permissions as retribution. Circumstances had now become intolerable, and so, with the vast majority of Shadow's player-base behind her, star_litty enacted a mass secession from Shadow of all active settlements on 3 July, taking most accessible assets with her, and forming a new nation called [[Radiance]].

She has played primary roles in the de-escalation of numerous internal conflicts in both Shadow and Radiance.

Astro loves horses, the color pink, and coffee, and has integrated all of them into her current residence in Cicatrix.

Astro first joined Horizon's End on April 22, 2023 along with several friends from another server. This move was primarily organized by Ae0n. That day, Ae0n created the settlement ThievesHaven and on April 27 created [[Shadow]], a nation organized around the friend group.

The early days of Shadow were generally quiet. Astro, as part of Shadow's Council, served as the nation's Stellar Cartographer. In this role, she searched the galaxy for a proper place to call home - after considering numerous planets, she ultimately recommended to the Council that they settle in the Jay Hole in [[Chimgara]]. After settling there and establishing ThievesHaven as a formal settlement, the nation quickly designed and constructed the framework for a primary base of operations.

Astro's initial responsibilities during the construction of ThievesHaven were security-oriented. Astro used her previous redstone experience to design systems to keep the base secure. This was, however, ultimately unnecessary; as everyone in the nation became more familiar with the server mechanics, they all began to see the need for plugin-based systems instead.

=== Shadow-Orovika War and Aftermath ===

The [[Shadow-Orovika War]], lasting from August 2023 to September 2023, marked a period of general inactivity for Astro. Following the recent admittance of Noix444 to the nation, [[Shadow]] began engaging in piracy and ultimately found itself in a war with [[Orovika]] as a result. This was largely an unpopular war; despite an initial desire by many members of Shadow for more action, the war quickly drove some members of the nation away - either leaving the nation or the server altogether.

The internal tension in Shadow created by this conflict eventually led [[Star litty]], one of the Council members of Shadow, to discreetly coordinate with Orovika to establish surrender terms for Shadow. This and other factors became the center of a falling-out between Ae0n and Star, and the war continued.

Following Star's departure from the nation, Astro was promoted by Ae0n to Council as Shadow's Director of Operations. During this time, she worked to help Ae0n understand that the terms Star had previously secured from Orovika were in fact the best thing for Shadow going forward, emphasizing how the war was affecting the nation members and how the terms, despite involving a formal surrender, were favorable to Shadow. After coordinating separately between Ae0n and Orovikan leadership, she was eventually able to make official the surrender terms that Star had previously negotiated. Following the end of the war, she focused on giving the nation time to rebuild, and eventually played a significant role in Star rejoining Shadow.

Following the [[Shadow-Orovika War]], [[Shadow]] enjoyed relative peace (with various internal conflicts along the way). Around the winter of late-2023/early-2024, Ae0n became increasingly inactive and eventually appointed Astro and [[Star litty]] as co-leaders. This allowed the nation to continue to operate smoothly while Ae0n was inactive. Around this time, Astro also moved to Star's horse farm in [[Carthage]], while officially remaining part of ThievesHaven and [[Shadow]].

Eventually, internal conflicts between Ae0n and Star reached a breaking point. Through May and June of 2024, these conflicts became increasingly serious; while Astro initially stayed out of these conflicts, she eventually attempted to act as a neutral middleman to compromise, find common ground, and peacefully resolve the conflicts between Ae0n and Star. She was unsuccessful and was ultimately forced to pick a side, leading to the creation of [[Radiance]] and Ae0n's departure from the server.

During the late-winter and early-spring of 2024, this increasingly became an issue. While Ae0n's influence over the nation was dwindling due to her inactivity, she still retained all formal leadership and, in hopes of becoming more active in the future, still wished to be part of major discussions while star_litty and Astrobolt were co-leaders.

This situation led to increasing conflicts between star_litty and Ae0n regarding formal leadership. Following discussions led by Astrobolt, these concerns were temporarily put aside and plans were put in place for Ae0n to formally and voluntarily transfer formal leadership of the nation to star_litty. These plans, however, became delayed for outside reasons and, following continued internal conflicts, were set aside altogether.

These conflicts culminated in June and July 2024. As a result of numerous miscommunications, general support for star_litty among Shadow's members, significant pressure and influence from other nations, and failed negotiations by Astrobolt, Ae0n removed in-game permissions from all nation members, including Astrobolt and star_litty. While initially intended to be temporary (although this was unknown to anyone at the time), this was seen by many members - and especially by other nations - as malicious. Because of this, star_litty formed the nation [[Radiance]] on 3 July; the new nation quickly took hold of many of Shadow's assets, and was joined by every active settlement of Shadow.

Radiance immediately received widespread diplomatic support from nearly the entire server, including from the [[Ilios Alliance]]. The new nation received especially strong support from [[Cortesia Del Mar]], one of the members of the Ilios Alliance, allowing Radiance to quickly build itself up. These plans, however, became delayed for outside reasons and, following continued internal conflicts, were set aside altogether.

These conflicts culminated in June and July 2024. As a result of numerous miscommunications, general support for star_litty among Shadow's members, significant pressure and influence from other nations, and failed negotiations by Astrobolt, Ae0n removed in-game permissions from all nation members, including Astrobolt and star_litty. While initially intended to be temporary (although this was unknown to anyone at the time), this was seen by many members - and especially by other nations - as malicious. Because of this, star_litty formed the nation [[Radiance]] on 3 July; the new nation quickly took hold of many of Shadow's assets, and was joined by every active settlement of Shadow.
