'''Light Frigates''' are a subclass of [[Frigates]] which occupy a unique niche, set apart from both similarly-sized [[Corvettes]] and larger [[Frigate|Frigates]]. They are fast platforms that are large enough to use [[Starship Weapons|phasers]], and usually have a front bridge to most effectively utilize their [[Starship Weapons|Plasma Cannon]] primary weapons; however, they're smaller than their [[Attack Frigate]] and [[Heavy Frigate]] cousins and can thus dodge enemy capital ship attacks. Light frigates are primarily tuned to counter large capital ships like [[Destroyer|Destroyers]], being able to conduct hit-and-runs to whittle down slower targets.

Light Frigates are evenly matched by [[Corvettes]], are countered directly by [[Attack Frigates]] and full size [[Frigates]], and are countered indirectly by [[Attack Destroyers]] and [[Destroyers]]. Light Frigates are a counter to [[Cruisers]] and [[Battlecruisers]].

== History ==
Founded on October 19th 2024 by [[SIG130]], lonestar is a large faction with a balanced economy and military. Its capital, texas, dedicated itself to recruiting and training new players. After a brief period as an autonomous member of [[Radiance]], texas became independent and founded a nation grounded in neutrality. Its current leader is eyrzeke, the original founder of texas.

Since its founding, Lonestar has balanced itself around military and industrial growth. Lonestar forces have participated in a number of anti-piracy engagements as well as starship construction for clients ranging from larger factions to individual entrepreneurs.

=== Corporatization Era ===
On December 1, 2024, leadership of lonestar was passed to [[XiJinping]]. He implemented sweeping reforms, including a rapid militarization effort, the production of a modernized war fleet, cessation of active Texas recruitment in favor of settlement recruitment, the initialization of a supercapital program, and the full subsidization of lonestar member settlements Aarmance and Elodia (which began a trend away from independent settlement development toward centralization). This period would also see the establishment of lonestar's current corporate identity, with the establishment of the seat of the Chairman, the Executive Panel, and the Secretariat. Aarmance governor Gvazdika would then be appointed to the Executive Panel, marking the first time a member of a settlement outside of Texas held a leadership position in a nation that had been overwhelmingly dominated by it up to that point.

On January 5, 2025, Lonestar entered into its first short-lived formal alliance with [[Ekatera]] to exchange engineering assistance on Altar Sanctorium for Ekatera's time in printing Lonestar's freighter fleets. Shortly thereafter, [[Vega]] declared war on Ekatera over the issue of a seizure of a freighter used by the Vega citizen LeMaire. Lonestar attempted to diplomatically intervene, but could not mediate an agreement between the parties. Frustration with the handling of the situation and the risk the war posed to noncombatant Lonestar personnel led to Lonestar beginning a siege of [[Kovfefe]] against Ekatera on January 7, 2025, marking Lonestar's entry into the [[Vega-Ekatera War]].

In late January, [[Sovrah]] would join Lonestar after having been a member of [[Imperial Nova]], which also resulted in the transfer of Sovrah's Repentance-class [[Battlecruiser]]. This marked the first Battlecruiser in possession of a Lonestar pilot, though it would later be scrapped on Febuary 23rd, 2025. Around the same time, the Nexus Affair would occur as part of the Vega-Ekatera War; following this event, [[Berx]] would become a subsidized Lonestar member settlement. Berx and Elodia would later merge into Olympus, located at the site of former [[Starfall]].

On March 5th, Sovrah would finalize the printing of the first home-brewed Lonestar Battlecruiser in survival, the Veyron class.

On March 19th, 2025, Chairmanship of Lonestar was transferred to WanderingOtter, and Hextagon was made advisor. Later the same day, Lonestar CursedSaturn killed server director Gutin in ground combat.

March 19th marked the end of the corporatization era. It had been characterized by the end of the old texas and its perception as a "noob settlement," pretextual warfare, alignment with the Vega bloc, aggressive military-industrial growth, and strong centralization.

== Politics ==
Rather than a nation with a political governing body, Lonestar is an interstellar megacorporation that subsidizes small, local governments which are largely permitted to act autonomously so long as the corporation is able to bring some profit from their success. At the head of Lonestar is the Chairman, who largely acts unilaterally--the Chairman's decisions require no approval. However, the Chairman generally accepts input and advice from the Executive Panel. The Lonestar Executives in turn act largely without outside interference or requirements of approval within their spheres of influence, provided their enterprises bring profit to the corporation. The rest of Lonestar is made up of the secretariat, debt-collecting corporate enforcers, engineers, and various interns.

In dealings with the various nations of Horizon's End, Lonestar tends to act with neutrality--continuing the Texas tradition of neutrality and independence--or taking the course of action that brings it the most profit. It is even willing to engage in business deals with pirates, provided those pirates do not engage in any hostilities toward the Lonestar corporate fleet.

The '''Second Horizon Federation-CDM War''' was a conflict between the reformed Second Horizon Federation, and the combined forces of Cortesia Del Mar and Orovika. The war lasted from 26 April 2025 to 1 May 2025, making it the shortest war in HE History.

The war consisted of the Battle of Presidia Alenasirith, several minor skirmishes, and the sinking of CDMN Aldenfult.

== Prelude to War ==
In the months leading up to the conflict, Cortesia Del Mar had become a large server power independently of its involvement in the [[Ilios Alliance]], which disbanded shortly before the war began. In March, it would be revealed that CDM had amassed a large stockpile of 10 [[Battlecruiser|Battlecruisers]]. At the same time, CDM would begin publishing monthly economic reports indicating that they possessed by far the most credits of any single group on the server. Because of their military alliance with Orovika and the fact that the two nations contained a very large portion of the server's userbase between the two of them, this led to many other groups feeling that they were beginning to stifle server politics.

Meanwhile, in mid-February, Lonestar suffered a crisis of leadership as none of its current leaders desired to continue leading and no suitable replacements could be determined at the time. This led to then-leader Xi Jinping suggesting that, rather than quietly fade away, the faction engage in a massive war of aggression against CDM utilizing the then-unknown laser array ships (see: [[Laser Cannon Incident]]) to effectively go out with a bang. Over time, this idea would spread and be refined as an increasing number of trusted individuals were brought into the conspiracy, beginning first with [[Sovrah]] and [[Juuliett]], then spreading to The Galactic Empire, the Separatist Alliance, Imperial Nova, Vask Authority, and other actors large and small.

The idea of forming a coalition against CDM proved to be a popular one among many actors on the server who had either felt they had been wronged by CDM at some point, that CDM's position was too strong, or who simply wanted a war against a challenging foe. Eventually, this culminated in [[Longy]]'s formation of the Second Horizon Federation with a leadership council comprised of leaders from most of the involved nations, who pledged varying levels of direct and indirect support and coordination with independent actors outside of their nations. Many of these nations would never publicly get involved due to the swift end to the war, despite plans to do so.

The war between the Second Horizon Federation and CDM began on 26 April 2025, when a 4000 block Light Freighter piloted by Orovikan Chewywooki09 was sunk in Regulus. Imperial Nova joined the Separatist forces in engaging Cortesian aerobar200, sinking a 12k Destroyer. Additional ships on both sides were sunk in the following skirmish, before a Battlecruiser was piloted at Presidia Alenarith, prompting Novan and Separatist forces to attack, beginning the Battle of Presidia Alenarith.

After reviewing footage taken by neutral observing parties, it was discovered that CDM player Yodabird19 was deliberately using a hacked client to gain a speed advantage during the battle of Presidia Alenarith. Yodabird19 was permanently banned on 29 April 2025. Following the ban, CDM announced they would no longer be active on Horizon's End.

Following Yodabird19's ban, Lonestar, Vikyrian Syndicate, and Separatist Alliance would chain-siege all of CDM's [[Siege Stations]] in a bid to bait out remaining Cortesian Battlecruisers. Imperial Nova would withdraw from the war and announce the victory and dissolution of the Second Horizon Federation, though in truth the other actors within it continued to coordinate in targeting CDM and Orovika members, especially Battlecruisers for some time following the announcement until both nations essentially ceased to exist.

=== Sinking of CDMN Aldenfult ===
The final conflict of the war was the sinking of CDMN Aldenfult, a Battlecruiser piloted by Equiila of CDM. Equiila left the nation 2 hours after the Battlecruiser was sunk.

'''Ship factories''' can print a saved blueprint design (including buildings) at a cost of materials and credits. The blueprint to be printed is selected by rightclicking the sign and entering the blueprint's name in the text field on the factory menu. Ship factories can be detected with the sign text [shipfactory]. Materials must be placed in the chest. The ship factory can be set to ''intentionally not print the last block of a material'' so that pipe systems have an easier time transporting items if the Item Setting "Leave one item remaining" is enabled in the factory's settings menu.
 Right click the sign to start the printing process. Materials in the chest will automatically be consumed. Credits will also be withdrawn, based on the type of block. Most hull blocks are relatively cheap, while items like mineral blocks, signs, and other rarer components are much more expensive.
 Blocks will not print if there are not enough materials, the player does not have enough credits, or there are blocks obstructing the printed structure. If only some of the materials for a blueprint are available, the blueprint will be partially printed.
 The structure will print starting from two blocks behind the chest (chest - air - blueprint corner). The direction in which the structure was saved will be inherited, regardless of the current direction of the ship factory.
By aligning all of the edges of one's ship accordingly, it is possible to use a ship factory to easily repair a damaged starship.

It is also possible to create an advanced ship factory which will pull from a much wider storage system automatically while printing to circumvent the need to cycle items through a single factory chest. The storage chests to be drawn from must extract into a pipe system connected to the stained glass blocks of the advanced ship factory, the advanced ship factory must be powered, and the "Grab from networked pipes" setting must be enabled in the Item Settings portion of the ship factory's menu. Once set up, the advanced ship factory effectively automates the entire printing process.

Buildings can contain blocks that are illegal in starships. This makes a challenge in piloting a building as a ship.

'''Ship factories''' can print a saved blueprint design (including buildings) at a cost of materials and credits. The blueprint to be printed is selected by rightclicking the sign and entering the blueprint's name in the text field on the factory menu. Ship factories can be detected with the sign text [shipfactory]. Materials must be placed in the chest. The ship factory can be set to ''intentionally not print the last block of a material'' so that pipe systems have an easier time transporting items if the Item Setting "Leave one item remaining" is enabled in the factory's settings menu.
 Right click the sign to start the printing process. Materials in the chest will automatically be consumed. Credits will also be withdrawn, based on the type of block. Most hull blocks are relatively cheap, while items like mineral blocks, signs, and other rarer components are much more expensive.
 Blocks will not print if there are not enough materials, the player does not have enough credits, or there are blocks obstructing the printed structure. If only some of the materials for a blueprint are available, the blueprint will be partially printed.
 The structure will print starting from two blocks behind the chest (chest - air - blueprint corner). The direction in which the structure was saved will be inherited, regardless of the current direction of the ship factory.
By aligning all of the edges of one's ship accordingly, it is possible to use a ship factory to easily repair a damaged starship.

It is also possible to create an advanced ship factory which will pull from a much wider storage system automatically while printing to circumvent the need to cycle items through a single factory chest. The storage chests to be drawn from must extract into a pipe system connected to the stained glass blocks of the advanced ship factory, the advanced ship factory must be powered, and the "Grab from networked pipes" setting must be enabled in the Item Settings portion of the ship factory's menu. The battle was fought over [[Skull Crusher]]'s [[barge]], which the Novans planned to ambush and sink.

The Battle of Skull Crusher's Barge resulted in the second [[Battlecruiser]] to be sunk in server history, and is the largest loss in the [[Vega-Nova War (2025)|Vega-Nova War]].

== Context ==
Skull Crusher, a citizen of [[Vega]] had traveled to [[Trench]] with the Vegan Barge, VS Malibu alone while the Vega military was offline. The Novans, seeing an undefended barge in Trench, deployed 2 1k [[Gunship|Gunships]] to sink the barge uncontested.

Vega received notice from Skull Crusher that the Novans were in Trench shortly before the barge was attacked, prompting the Vegan forces to log on and defend the barge.

== Summary of Events ==
The original assault force consisted of [[_Longy]] and [[NovaManGood2110]] both in 1k gunships. The barge, unable to escape the [[Gravity Well|gravity well]], simply played evasively until backup was able to arrive. The original relief force consisted of [[Sherbet_S]], [[MaidPierce]], [[GigaJeff]], and [[BlockBuster019]], all also in 1k Gunships. The first 2 1ks were sunk, and the Vegan forces then moved to escape Trench. The Novans then deployed their [[Battlecruiser]] to trench, but were unable to catch the Vegan Barge before it evacuated to safety. The Battlecruiser was shortly followed by a 1k Gunship and [[Starfighter]] backup from [[_Longy]] and [[Thrawn31]].

The Vegans, seeing the Battlecruiser, chose to engage, with the hopes of sinking the Battlecruiser. Vegan forces further rallied [[AssassinXX]] and [[Solesey]] to assist in the fight, bringing the Vegan Battlecruiser and a 12k, respectively. The 1k and Starfighter were sunk, then the focus was directed towards the Battlecruiser, while the Vegans awaited the arrival of their own Battlecruiser.

_Longy came back to counter the fleet with a Starfighter, but was again sunk. He then returned to [[Orlandia]] to pilot a 12k [[Destroyer]]. The Destroyer jumped into Trench, successfully bypassing Sherbet_S' attempt to well, and joined the fight.

The 12k engaged with the Vegan forces, and was able to sink Sherbet_S' Gunship. The 12k and Battlecruiser continued to fight the Vegans until Solesey was able to sink the 12k, sacrificing his own 12k in the process.

Thrawn31 during this time was traveling in a Vesta from [[Ilius]] to [[Aret]] in order to redeploy with _Longy, but by the time both pilots had left Aret to reengage, Sherbet_S had already arrived in another 1k Gunship, and was able to hold both ships down in a well for the rest of the fight between the Novan Battlecruiser and the remaining Vegans.

The Novan Battlecruiser, now having no support, continued to be fired upon, until the Vegans were able to land the finishing blow.

Solesey's second 12k took major hull damage, MaidPierce's 1k took minor hull damage, and the remaining fleet including AssassinXX's Battlecruiser remained undamaged.

Vegan forces then escorted their Battlecruiser to safety at [[Station|space station]] Fraternity outside [[Qatra]]. After securing the Battlecruiser, the Vegans were notified that _Longy and Thrawn31 were still pinned by Sherbet_S' gravity well in [[Regulus System|Regulus]]. Forces regrouped and traveled to Regulus, where they were able to sink Thrawn31's 1k, and then _Longy's 12k, with the only casualty being [[Skull Crusher]]'s 1k. _Longy successfully navigated to the Novan space station Threshold outside Aret before sinking, ensuring the Vegan forces were unable to recover the wreck.

Before the Novan Battlecruiser sunk, Thrawn31, on behalf of Nova, offered 17,500 credits to [[Lonestar]] Executive [[Sovrah]] in exchange for bringing his own Battlecruiser to reinforce the Novans, which Sovrah refused and publicly disclosed.

Skull Crusher, while securing the [[Regulus System|Regulus]] to [[Trench]] gate, encountered player [[emeraldknight57]], who was trying to pass into Trench. after Skull Crusher declined entry, emeraldknight57 became surly, declaring "Vega is my arch nemesis." The battle was the first and only significant usage of such powerful [[Laser Cannon]] arrays on [[Survival]]; even prior to the incident on 15 March, Laser Cannons were already slated for a significant nerf the following evening due to a widespread consensus that they were unbalanced. The Laser Cannon Incident was the most lethal battle of any in [[Horizon's End]] history, with a total of 24 ships being sunk over the course of the 90-minute engagement.

On November 9th 2024, the server received an update that included a change reducing Laser Cannon weapon capacitor power drain to 160 from 1600, allowing [[Destroyers]] to fire over 70 of them at a time. By this time, the [[Vega-Nova War]] had begun, and Imperial Nova opted to use the tactic before its inevitable nerf.

He would eventually come to befriend [[Oriomium]], a friendship which would continue into StarQuest 4.0 as the two both joined the Arator Empire. During this time, XiJinping_ would befriend and occasionally fight alongside numerous SkyDogs in the never-ending war.

On Horizon's End, XiJinping_ would find himself in a very different community to the one that he left. Joining on September 14th, 2024, he found himself in the middle of the [[Long Peace]], a deeply unfamiliar political landscape, and dealing with deeply unfamiliar mechanics. However, his time with StarQuest many years prior gave him an edge in learning the new mechanics, and after joining the settlement [[Texas]], then part of [[Radiance]], he rapidly progressed under eyrzeke's tutelage.

By the time eyrzeke was departing on September 28th, a mere two weeks later, XiJinping_ had become knowledgeable enough to be granted an officer position in the newly-formed Lonestar, then under [[SIG130]]'s leadership. He began leading a handful of small projects and training new players during this time, a role which he took on an increasing amount of responsibility in until, on December 1st, he was granted full leadership of Lonestar. He rapidly began to implement sweeping reforms to increase the faction's cohesion, identity, industrial output, and military power.

On February 12th 2025, shortly after the anti-Ekatera coalition's victory in the [[Vega-Ekatera War]], he would return leadership of Lonestar to SIG130.

== History ==
Founded on October 19th 2024 by [[SIG130]], lonestar is a large faction with a balanced economy and military. Its capital, texas, dedicated itself to recruiting and training new players. After a brief period as an autonomous member of [[Radiance]], texas became independent and founded a nation grounded in neutrality. Its current leader is [[XiJinping_]], the president of China itself.

Since its founding, lonestar has balanced itself around military and industrial growth. Lonestar forces have participated in a number of anti-piracy engagements as well as starship construction for clients ranging from larger factions to individual entrepreneurs.

On December 1, 2024, leadership of lonestar was passed to XiJinping_. He quickly began to implement sweeping reforms, most notably including a rapid militarization effort, the production of a modernized war fleet, cessation of active Texas recruitment, the initialization of a supercapital program, and the full subsidization of lonestar member settlements Aarmance and Elodia, as well as appointing Aarmance governor Gvazdika to the Lonestar Executive Panel.

On January 5, 2025, Lonestar entered into its first short-lived formal alliance with [[Ekatera]] to exchange engineering assistance on Altar Sanctorium for Ekatera's time in printing Lonestar's freighter fleets. Shortly thereafter, [[Vega]] declared war on Ekatera over the issue of a seizure of a freighter used by the Vega citizen LeMaire. Lonestar attempted to diplomatically intervene, but could not mediate an agreement between the parties. Frustration with the handling of the situation and the risk the war posed to noncombatant Lonestar personnel led to Lonestar beginning a siege of [[Kovfefe]] against Ekatera on January 7, 2025, marking Lonestar's entry into the [[Vega-Ekatera War]].

In late January, [[Sovrah]] would join Lonestar after having been a member of [[Imperial Nova]], which also resulted in the transfer of Sovrah's Repentance-class [[Battlecruiser]]. This marked the first Battlecruiser in possession of a Lonestar pilot, though it would later be scrapped on Febuary 23rd, 2025. Around the same time, the Nexus Affair would occur as part of the Vega-Ekatera War; following this event, [[Berx]] would become a subsidized Lonestar member settlement. Berx and Elodia would later merge into Olympus, located at the site of former [[Starfall]].

On February 6th, Lonestars [[XiJinping_]] and [[CursedSaturn]] would participate in [[February 6th Zealandia Manhunt|hunting Zealandia1]], a notorious pirate and assassin who had racked up a bounty of over 170,000 credits. The final assault on Zealandia’s tunnel ended with Saturn killing Zealandia with her rifle, collecting the bounty and marking one of the first times that Lonestar deployed ground troops in PVP combat.

== Politics ==
Rather than a nation with a political governing body, Lonestar is an interstellar megacorporation that subsidizes small, local governments which are largely permitted to act autonomously so long as the corporation is able to bring some profit from their success. At the head of Lonestar is the Chairman, who largely acts unilaterally--the Chairman's decisions require no approval. However, the Chairman generally accepts input and advice from the Executive Panel, currently comprised of [[Eyrzeke]], [[Sovrah]], [[Hextagon]], [[Gvazdika]], [[Veloquent]], and Quart_zy. The Lonestar Executives in turn act largely without outside interference or requirements of approval within their spheres of influence, provided their enterprises bring profit to the corporation. The rest of Lonestar is made up of the secretariat, debt-collecting corporate enforcers, engineers, and various interns.

In dealings with the various nations of Horizon's End, Lonestar tends to act with neutrality--continuing the Texas tradition of neutrality and independence--or taking the course of action that brings it the most profit. It is even willing to engage in business deals with pirates, provided those pirates do not engage in any hostilities toward the Lonestar corporate fleet.

On 29 December 2024, Gutin launched a meme attack on the [[Imperial Nova]] Siege station RegulusCargoDepotBeta, which prompted XiJinping_ to respond with his destroyer. Gutin left the battle, but players [[AdelieXY]] and Solesey continued to engage XiJinping_ while killer666dog observed. Sherbet_S would join the fight as it approached Vask. The chase led from the station to space near [[Vask]], space near [[Aerach]], then deep space between Aerach and [[Aret]].

Before leaving the siege station, Xijinping_ successfully sunk a 350 block starfighter, "VS Childersberg" piloted by Solesey. The ship had been borrowed from Sherbet_S earlier that evening.

XiJinping_ was able to sink the RDY starfighter "Spitfire", which was unpiloted as its pilot, AdelieXY, attempted to hijack an 8k belonging to Equiila. Equiila would later recover the 8k.

The attacking force, now AssassinXX, GigaJeff, and Sherbet_S in starfighters with AdelieXY on foot caught up to XiJinping_ between Aerach and Aret, and were able to successfully sink the 12k, allowing Sherbet_S to claim the wreck in station thanksforlunch.

The '''Vega-Ekatera War''' was a military conflict between [[Vega]] and [[Ekatera]], alongside which the nations of [[Lonestar]] and [[Radiance]] enacted independent military operations against Ekatera. The nation of Vega was the sole combatant to have formally declared war on Ekatera, while Lonestar classified their operations against Ekatera as "mass seizure of Ekateran assets", and Radiance classified theirs as "anti-piracy" activity.

Combat in the war strongly favored the combined military might of Vega, Lonestar, and Radiance; Ekatera's war strategy primarily centered on sheltering from attacks inside of [[Altar Sanctorium]], the nation's [[Trade City]], which was a safezone. Outside of Altar Sanctorium, several players and two settlements ([[Syros Republic]] and [[Kovfara]]) had left Ekatera since the start of the conflict. It ended in the dissolution of Ekatera, marking the first conflict since the [[Long Peace]] to have effectively been a total war among large nations.

== Origins ==

On 3 January 2025, [[Radiance]]-contracted player [[AdelieXY]] assassinated [[Kiro231]], Queen of Ekatera, in a [[PvP]] attack. On the basis of AdelieXY's previous working relationship with Vega (in [[RentDueYesterday]], the [[Andurian Federation (2024)|Andurian Federation]], and [[Vask Authority]]), Kiro231 made the assumption that AdelieXY (whom she later described as "a player who [Vega] often sponsor") was a Vegan operative, and impounded a freighter parked at [[Altar Sanctorium]] registered to Vegan [[AssassinXX]] in response.

The following day, on 4 January, [[LeMaire]], who (rather than AssassinXX) was the actual user of the freighter, informed Vega that her ship had been impounded. Over the course of the same day, Vegan emperor [[MaidPierce]] and diplomat [[Sherbet_S]] attempted to rectify the situation by contacting Kiro231, but received no response; Kiro231 subsequently demanded Vega pay a 48000 credit "fine" to recover the ship (disregarding AdelieXY's non-affiliation-with Vega), an offer which Vega refused. On 5 January 2025, MaidPierce announced in the Horizon's End Discord that:
Following the unlawful seizure of LeMaire's vessel in the Trade City "Altar Sanctorium" and Kiro's refusal to speak to any Vegan representatives on the matter, We have decided to declare war until the vessel is returned to Vegan territory.

While some (such as [[Oliveburger22]]) would deem this course an "overreaction" from Vega, [[MaidPierce]] justified Vega's actions by stating that "Vega has made it very clear through [[StarLegacy|SL]] and [[Horizon's End|HE]] that you dont mess with LeMaire"; [[GigaJeff]] of Vega elaborated, "this was an under reaction, we should've reacted harder".

== Expansion of the Conflict ==
Following Vega's declaration of war on Ekatera, and the associated publicization of the circumstances of LeMaire's ship's impounding and the subsequent diplomatic exchange pertaining thereto, several other nations and players on the server would express some level of opposition to Ekatera.

=== Lonestar ===
On 7 January 2025, Chairman [[XiJinping]] of Lonestar, with the unanimous support of the Lonestar executive panel, announced on Discord that:
On 1/5/2025, Lonestar entered into a labor exchange partnership with Ekatera, believing that what seemed to be recent improvements in the nation's leadership and management were indicative of things to come and that this partnership could bear fruit for both parties. Hours later, Ekatera, apparently emboldened by this newfound partnership, seized a trading vessel used by LeMaire and failed to resolve the situation diplomatically with Vega.

Our urging of Ekatera to resolve the situation and to eliminate the risk to Lonestar partners fell upon deaf ears. In fact, Ekatera went so far as to attempt to sway Lonestar's opinion toward opposition to Vega. It is now the opinion of the Executive Panel that Ekatera is a reckless and undiplomatic nation that is willing to engage in abusive practices against traders on a whim--a gross mismanagement of its resources, a problem for interstellar corporations such as ourselves, and a threat to good business. As such, we hereby declare a mass seizure of Ekateran assets by Lonestar corporate enforcers as compensation for these transgressions. This operation is separate and apart from the ongoing Vega war against Ekatera.

We demand the submission of Ekatera to an occupation of Altar Sanctorium, formerly Haven, by Lonestar forces and the appointment of a Lonestar representative to governorship of the city. It is clear that the city's current management is inept and that outside intervention is required to return it to an acceptable condition that benefits interstellar trade. We recognize that it may take a long time for Ekatera to come to terms with this, and are prepared to continue seizing their assets until they do.

Lonestar will welcome Ekateran citizens displeased by their leader into its ranks.
While not a formal declaration of war, Lonestar members would begin attacking members of Ekatera following this announcement. Lonestar's offer of asylum to departing Ekaterans was taken up by [[GalaxyGaming Mc]]. [[Syros Republic]], formerly Symred, had also joined Lonestar during the day Vega's war began as the partnership between Lonestar and Ekatera fell apart.

Radiance's declaration did not invoke the [[Ilios Alliance]] of which they are a member, as the Ilios Alliance's military requirement applies only to defensive actions, leaving [[Cortesia Del Mar]] and [[Orovika]] neutral in the conflict. Though initially their combat involvement was minimal, Radiance would eventually participate in the Siege of Altar Sanctorium when its safezone fell.

== The Nexus Affair ==
In the morning of 24 January 2025, the industrialist [[Equiila]] of Lonestar—who had recently started his own settlement on Lioda called Nexus—opted to secede from Lonestar, citing frustration with the Chairman's handling of the war. Equiila then joined Ekatera and announced his intentions to manufacture a fleet to defend the nation, stating, "so, when my men are online and kiro is, im gonna start a mass printing on a war fleet." This triggered a swift response from Lonestar, who promptly placed a 50,000 credit bounty per kill on all members of Nexus and declared that it would seek total liquidation of the settlement regardless of its nation. Lonestar enforcer [[Sovrah]] would kill Nexus member [[Abu 42069]] in PvP soon afterward at Nexus itself, prompting Nexus members lacking new player protection to seek shelter in Altar Sanctorium.

Later that night, Equiila would agree to the surrender of his Normandy-class [[Heavy Freighter]], which contained a significant number of ship building materials, metals, and various equipment that he had received from Lonestar, as well as materials he had brought to Altar Sanctorium from Nexus. Chairman XiJinping retrieved the ship directly from Altar Sanctorium itself, escorted by a [[Destroyer]] and a [[Tackle Gunship]]. Pursuant to Lonestar's peace demand, leadership of Nexus was then passed to Abu_42069_, and Equiila left Ekatera soon afterward upon having his destroyer sunk by Vega forces. The rest of the restructured Nexus would then secede from Ekatera and return to Lonestar, rebranding to [[Berx]].

On the basis of AdelieXY's previous working relationship with Vega (in [[RentDueYesterday]], the [[Andurian Federation (2024)|Andurian Federation]], and [[Vask Authority]]), Kiro231 made the assumption that AdelieXY (whom she later described as "a player who [Vega] often sponsor") was a Vegan operative, and impounded a freighter parked at [[Altar Sanctorium]] registered to Vegan [[AssassinXX]] in response.

The following day, on 4 January, [[LeMaire]], who (rather than AssassinXX) was the actual user of the freighter, informed Vega that her ship had been impounded. Over the course of the same day, Vegan emperor [[MaidPierce]] and diplomat [[Sherbet_S]] attempted to rectify the situation by contacting Kiro231, but received no response; Kiro231 subsequently demanded Vega pay a 48000 credit "fine" to recover the ship (disregarding AdelieXY's non-affiliation-with Vega), an offer which Vega refused. On 5 January 2025, MaidPierce announced in the Horizon's End Discord that:

Hours later, Ekatera, apparently emboldened by this newfound partnership, seized a trading vessel used by LeMaire and failed to resolve the situation diplomatically with Vega.

Our urging of Ekatera to resolve the situation and to eliminate the risk to Lonestar partners fell upon deaf ears. In fact, Ekatera went so far as to attempt to sway Lonestar's opinion toward opposition to Vega. It is now the opinion of the Executive Panel that Ekatera is a reckless and undiplomatic nation that is willing to engage in abusive practices against traders on a whim--a gross mismanagement of its resources, a problem for interstellar corporations such as ourselves, and a threat to good business. As such, we hereby declare a mass seizure of Ekateran assets by Lonestar corporate enforcers as compensation for these transgressions. This operation is separate and apart from the ongoing Vega war against Ekatera.

We demand the submission of Ekatera to an occupation of Altar Sanctorium, formerly Haven, by Lonestar forces and the appointment of a Lonestar representative to governorship of the city. It is clear that the city's current management is inept and that outside intervention is required to return it to an acceptable condition that benefits interstellar trade. Equiila then joined Ekatera and announced his intentions to manufacture a fleet to defend the nation, stating, "so, when my men are online and kiro is, im gonna start a mass printing on a war fleet." This triggered a swift response from Lonestar, who promptly placed a 50,000 credit bounty per kill on all members of Nexus and declared that it would seek total liquidation of the settlement regardless of its nation. Lonestar enforcer [[Sovrah]] would kill Nexus member [[Abu 42069]] in PvP soon afterward at Nexus itself, prompting Nexus members lacking new player protection to seek shelter in Altar Sanctorium.

Founded on October 19th 2024 by [[SIG130]], lonestar is a large faction with a balanced economy and military. Its capital, texas, dedicated itself to recruiting and training new players. After a brief period as an autonomous member of [[Radiance]], texas became independent and founded a nation grounded in neutrality. Its current leader is [[XiJinping_]], the president of China itself.

Since its founding, lonestar has balanced itself around military and industrial growth. Lonestar forces have participated in a number of anti-piracy engagements as well as starship construction for clients ranging from larger factions to individual entrepreneurs.

On December 1, 2024, leadership of lonestar was passed to XiJinping_. He quickly began to implement sweeping reforms, most notably including a rapid militarization effort, the production of a modernized war fleet, cessation of active Texas recruitment, the initialization of a supercapital program, and the full subsidization of lonestar member settlements Aarmance and Elodia, as well as appointing Aarmance governor Gvazdika to the Lonestar Executive Panel.

On January 5, 2025, Lonestar entered into its first short-lived formal alliance with [[Ekatera]] to exchange engineering assistance on Altar Sanctorium for Ekatera's time in printing Lonestar's freighter fleets. Shortly thereafter, [[Vega]] declared war on Ekatera over the issue of a seizure of a freighter used by the Vega citizen LeMaire. We demand the submission of Ekatera to an occupation of Altar Sanctorium, formerly Haven, by Lonestar forces and the appointment of a Lonestar representative to governorship of the city. It is clear that the city's current management is inept and that outside intervention is required to return it to an acceptable condition that benefits interstellar trade. On December 5th, 2023, the Floro Mountains territory was purged from its previous settlement and was promptly claimed by eyrzeke of Shadow, who set up his home base in the abandoned base there. After negotiating secession from Shadow over internal politics, texas was officially founded on January 13th 2024.

Texas remained an independent settlement for many months, and gained a reputation as a neutral, but friendly, group. Texas quickly gained infamy for its active (some called it aggressive) recruitment program, in which new players received free ships to accelerate their development. At the core of this program was the first few batches of ancillary “zekeships,” a series of vessels with an emphasis on cost efficiency; warships and trade ships alike were designed with cheap bubble shields and ion thrusters, which made them cheap while still being effective and durable.

As larger and more advanced ancillary ships were developed, and texas began to grow larger and larger, it was decided that a nation to help manage resources and recruits alike would be beneficial. On June 8th 2024, texas officially joined the nation Radiance, with special terms allowing for independence and freedom as well as the possibility of texas’ future secession.

During this time, eyrzeke took special care in training “protégés,” recruits who demonstrated exceptional ability and the maturity needed to take over governorship if the situation arose. Three such recruits were FallenXStars, a highly capable engineer; SIG130, a talented builder and ship designer; and XiJinping_, a formidable pilot and skilled fighter. After eyrzeke stepped down, SIG130 was appointed as the governor on September 16th. Since its founding, lonestar has balanced itself around military and industrial growth. Lonestar forces have participated in a number of anti-piracy engagements as well as starship construction for clients ranging from larger factions to individual entrepreneurs.

On December 1, 2024, leadership of lonestar was passed to XiJinping_. He quickly began to implement sweeping reforms, most notably including a rapid militarization effort, the production of a modernized war fleet, cessation of active Texas recruitment, the initialization of a supercapital program, and the full subsidization of lonestar member settlements Aarmance and Elodia, as well as appointing Aarmance governor Gvazdika to the Lonestar Executive Panel.

XiJinping_ initially became involved in the "Minecraft in space" community nearly a decade ago on the server StarQuest in its 3.0 iteration. Most of his activity in that time centered around shipbuilding and home defense on Loyavas, a forest planet. He would eventually come to befriend [[Oriomium]], a friendship which would continue into StarQuest 4.0 as the two both joined the Arator Empire. During this time, XiJinping_ would befriend and occasionally fight alongside numerous SkyDogs in the never-ending war.

On Horizon's End, XiJinping_ would find himself in a very different community to the one that he left. Joining on September 14th, 2024, he found himself in the middle of the [[Long Peace]], a deeply unfamiliar political landscape, and dealing with deeply unfamiliar mechanics. However, his time with StarQuest many years prior gave him an edge in learning the new mechanics, and after joining the settlement [[Texas]], then part of [[Radiance]], he rapidly progressed under eyrzeke's tutelage.

By the time eyrzeke was departing on September 28th, a mere two weeks later, XiJinping_ had become knowledgeable enough to be granted an officer position in the newly-formed Lonestar, then under [[SIG130]]'s leadership. He began leading a handful of small projects and training new players during this time, a role which he took on an increasing amount of responsibility in until, on December 1st, he was granted full leadership of Lonestar. He rapidly began to implement sweeping reforms to increase the faction's cohesion, identity, industrial output, and military power.

On 3 January 2025, for indeterminate reasons, the player [[AdelieXY]] killed [[Kiro231]], Queen of Ekatera, in a [[PvP]] attack. On the basis of AdelieXY's previous working relationship with Vega (in [[RentDueYesterday]], the [[Andurian Federation (2024)|Andurian Federation]], and [[Vask Authority]]), Kiro231 made the assumption that AdelieXY (whom she later described as "a player who [Vega] often sponsor") was a Vegan operative, and impounded a freighter parked at [[Altar Sanctorium]] owned by [[AssassinXX]] in response.

The following day, on 4 January, [[LeMaire]], who (rather than AssassinXX) was the actual user of the freighter, informed Vega that her ship had been impounded. Over the course of the following day, Vegan diplomats [[MaidPierce]] and [[Sherbet_S]] would seek to rectify the situation (and to clarify that AdelieXY was not acting in cooperation with Vega); Kiro231 demanded Vega pay a 48000 credit "fine" to recover the ship, which Vega refused. On 5 January 2025 MaidPierce announced in the Horizon's End Discord that:
Following the unlawful seizure of LeMaire's vessel in the Trade City "Altar Sanctorium" and Kiro's refusal to speak to any Vegan representatives on the matter, We have decided to declare war until the vessel is returned to Vegan territory.

On 7 January 2025, Chairman [[XiJinping]] of Lonestar, with the unanimous support of the Lonestar executive panel, announced on Discord that:
On 1/5/2025, Lonestar entered into a labor exchange partnership with Ekatera, believing that what seemed to be recent improvements in the nation's leadership and management were indicative of things to come and that this partnership could bear fruit for both parties. Hours later, Ekatera, apparently emboldened by this newfound partnership, seized a trading vessel used by LeMaire and failed to resolve the situation diplomatically with Vega.

Our urging of Ekatera to resolve the situation and to eliminate the risk to Lonestar partners fell upon deaf ears. In fact, Ekatera went so far as to attempt to sway Lonestar's opinion toward opposition to Vega. It is now the opinion of the Executive Panel that Ekatera is a reckless and undiplomatic nation that is willing to engage in abusive practices against traders on a whim--a gross mismanagement of its resources, a problem for interstellar corporations such as ourselves, and a threat to good business. As such, we hereby declare a mass seizure of Ekateran assets by Lonestar corporate enforcers as compensation for these transgressions. This operation is separate and apart from the ongoing Vega war against Ekatera.

We demand the submission of Ekatera to an occupation of Altar Sanctorium, formerly Haven, by Lonestar forces and the appointment of a Lonestar representative to governorship of the city. It is clear that the city's current management is inept and that outside intervention is required to return it to an acceptable condition that benefits interstellar trade. We recognize that it may take a long time for Ekatera to come to terms with this, and are prepared to continue seizing their assets until they do.

Lonestar will welcome Ekateran citizens displeased by their leader into its ranks.
While not a formal declaration of war, Lonestar members would begin attacking members of Ekatera following this announcement. Lonestar's offer of asylum to departing Ekaterans was taken up by the settlement Syros Republic, formerly Symred.

While no members of Radiance and Ekatera have yet engaged in combat since this declaration, Radiance's statement represented the third major nation to take part in hostile activity against Ekatera. Radiance's declaration did not invoke the [[Ilios Alliance]] of which they are a member, as the Ilios Alliance's military requirement applies only to defensive actions, leaving [[Cortesia Del Mar]] and [[Orovika]] neutral in the conflict.
