The '''People's Republic of Arimfea''', more commonly known as simply '''Arimfea''', is the oldest nation on Horizon's End. Arimfea was founded on the 25th of October, 2016, on [[Star Legacy]] by the server's owner [[MicleBrick]] (on his alternate account, [[Raimus]]) and has existed near-continuously since. Arimfea was originally founded as a pirate nation, but has been drastically changed over the course of its long history. Arimfea is now a self-proclaimed ''socialist republic'', focusing on the prosperity of its people.

Arimfea was formally founded by MicleBrick on the 25th of October, 2016 on Star Legacy, the space-minecraft successor to StarQuest and predecessor server to Horizon's End. However, early conceptions of the then-Arabian inspired pirate nation were materializing as early as 2014 on StarQuest, within the factions of RedChaos and SkyDogs. Arimfea was born into a conflict with Oblivion, a rival privateer nation. After Oblivion left the server, Arimfea became what is widely considered to have been the most succesful pirate nation on Star Legacy. In 2018, during its golden age, it had no serious opposition from colonists or privateers and fully controlled two entire planets. Arimfea is the only nation in the shared history of SL and HE to accomplish such a feat.

MicleBrick had organized Arimfea as an absolute monarchy, but had become increasingly stubborn towards the end of 2018. Disagreements with the leadership of [[Hibernia]] escalated into a secession and the establishment of the Sakaran Executive Republic. This newly independent nation allied with a resurgent Oblivion. With most of their fleet and elite pilots having left the nation, Arimfea stood little chance and suffered incredibile losses. MicleBrick reformed the nation, abandoning piracy. He allied with [[Ekatera]] and formed the [[Andromedan Republic]], a grand alliance and confederation of most nations on the server. The Andromedan Republic would defeat Oblivion eventually, but Arimfea never recovered from its initial losses. The Andromedan Republic would eventually stagnate and collapse in the [[Andromedan Republic-Vega War]], with Arimfea remaining mostly dormant thereafter.

Vortexion effectively ran the nation as an autocrat, at least nominally still maintaining the Sultanate. His leadership turned Arimfea into a great power, even briefly being considered a possible competitor by the server hegemon, [[Vega]]. Vortexion's leadership later faltered. Disagreements with FellOffBridge led to his secession, with the same happening later with [[Blackular]] and [[Haven]]'s secession. Congress is formed by the settlements that are part of Arimfea and keeps the government in check. Currently, the Arimfean government is headed by [[Lud_Bud]], who became the premier after the Republic was declared.

Arimfea is a nation enforcing a state of total equality -- no member can have any authority based on wealth or seniority within the nation. The only authority one can have is derived from their democratically elected position.

Arimfea is allied to [[Vega]] and currently at peace. Arimfea aims to maintain friendly relations with all nations.

The People's Republic seperates the heads of state and government into the President and Premier, respectively. The President is elected, but has no terms and the office is only transferred upon abdication or death. The same goes for the Vice-President, but they can also be replaced by presidential decree at any time. The Premier is elected democratically every 3 months, with no term limits. The Premier forms a government and appoints ministers. This government can at any point be dissolved by the President, resulting in new elections. This national government is known as the People's Council. Arimfea is a federative state. Settlement leaders have a seat in the People's Congress, aimed at keeping the People's Council in check.

= Diplomatic Relations =
Arimfea openly aims to maintain friendly relations with all nations, but tries to keep out of interstellar conflicts. The Republic also inherited a rivalry with [[Cortesia Del Mar]] from the Sultanate due to several border disputes. Arimfea is allied with [[Vega]], but has no military ties to them.

The nature and complexity of Horizon's End's tech tree makes gaining access to substantive resources or infrastructure extremely challenging (and in some cases, impossible) without external support. At the time of the Cheth Wars, the survival server had just been created, and as a result, resources were extremely scarce: as an example, most Allied Sovereign States ships at the time employed white stained glass rather than black stained glass for their cockpits at this time, as production of black stained glass required a black stained glass [[printer]], which in turn required a black stained glass block, which was unobtainable through normal means as squids did not spawn on the server - this was only rectified when black stained glass produced via the /dye [[donor]] perk was used to construct black stained glass printers.

Ore blocks, which are essential in [[starship]] construction, were especially challenging to mass-produce with such limited means. [[Asteroids]] did not exist on the server at this time, meaning that obtaining resources required traveling to the appropriate [[planet]] (planetary ore distributions were also more restrictive at this time than in the present day) with a [[starship drill|drill]] ship, which would itself be extremely expensive to create.
