The Anthill is a settlement located in the Ionian Rise North on the planet Aret. It is currently owned and run by Consue in the nation of Stardust, with the aspiration of one day gaining trade city status.

Anthill was once the settlement Amcar (more formerly Ionia) and served as the capital of the Amcaran Social Republic and New Amcar until their dissolution.

(Page can be finished by whoever, simply added enough so that there was something here)

Etymology
The original name for the settlement was Ionia, based on the name of the territory Ionian Rise North. However Vortexion suggested to NoContextGiven to change the name to avoid unwanted confusion and attention. The name was thus changed to Amcar based on Aret Mining Corporation rooted in the settlements founding lore. Under the Amcaran Social Republic and especially under New Amcar it became increasingly necessary to distinguish the various settlements from the nation and the capital proper. The nickname Anthill was adopted due to the bases location on a prominent mountain, the increasing complex rooms, shafts and corridors and its socialist hard working populace. When Amcar was deemed dead and buried at the end of New Amcar, Consue ratified the name Anthill to maintain its history.
Amcaran Social Republic

Ionian Rise North was claimed on 18th of April 2022. The base developed into a modest mining outpost consisting of a landing pad, a plaza, the Troika tower and a mess of tunnels including a bombing panic room and the old consul room where the UN meeting was hosted. A starfigher hanger was later added as a response to frequent bombing runs from Vulnere. The base had the bare minimum of industry, including a haphazard array of power furnaces that players would have to gingerly walk over the bare rock mountain to get to and smaller planet miners. Around this time the beginnings of the Trench was dug out which served as a semi underground hangar and entrance for planet miners, the underside would be continued to be carved out that by spring 2024 over a third under the Anthill was a empty pit. During this time the settlement also experienced a purge on 3 November 2022. In the intervening hours the base was sacked and much of its technology stolen. The settlement also had limited fleet capacity with only 1 or 2 corvettes serving as flagships in the latter months and members mostly fielding shuttles to light freighters.

Near the end of January 2023 Consue joined the settlement and started to make steady changes. She starting to work on a completely overhauled design for the base, this is when the Anthill overall philosophy started to shift into technological efficiency and involved engineering married with visual elegance to the point of vanity. The first of these stages was a overhauled round trip auto sorted storage, a onmi ship printer, new hangars for gunships and corvette and ramped up resource gathering. This was done in tandem with designing newer and larger trade ships earning a signature anthill style to the fleet as well as a plans for a fortress.
:: Consue talking to NoContextGiven about drafting up base designs. 27 Jan 2023

While drafting up these plans the political situation at the Anthill evolved. The ASR as dissolved into Orovika to take advantage of the larger nations stations and resources on paper while Amcar remained a solid social community block. Tensions also rose about conflicting plans and commitments which lead to the leave and foundation of Arion. By the end of May 2023 the plans for the central fortress where finalized and ready to be built in survival. In the process of construction Consue became frustrated with the Orovikan material policies and assistance. In the Anthillian perspective, Orovika was nothing more than a louse collation of settlements sharing station benefits and piracy protection pacts, little direct aid came into Anthill from the bloc. The fact that the nation had a non existent presence in regulus (it was the "vipers pit" after all) also lent to the feeling of isolation.

This led to Consue to turn to the Orlandia, neighboring city on Aret managed by Imperial Nova, for aid whom responded with many boons including new warship designs for the settlement (a 4k and and the Kraken) and steady supply of natural resources. However the Novans shaky neutrality policy meant that the Anthill was soon thrust into the Alliance of Regulus-Vega War. The central fortress of the anthill was fully bult by mid of July 2023 but the constant sieges from Vega as a result from the war caused the settlement to enter into a 5 mouth period of dormancy.

Vega
The Anthill joined the nation of Vega on July 20, 2024, and left on November 16, 2024.

Cortesia Del Mar
On November 16, 2024, Anthill joined the nation of Cortesia Del Mar.

On April 6, 2025, Juuliett - a member of Radiance at the time - killed Consue for her bounty, prompting an attack from Cortesia. This led to a negotiation wherein Juuliett wold return Consue's items and head, but after this negotiation had concluded, Consue continued to attack, prompting Cortesian security forces to interfere with Consue and let Juuliett get away. Shortly afterward, Consue left Cortesia Del Mar, citing long-held grievances between her and Yodabird19, the military leader of Cortesia and the one to prevent her from pursuing Juuliett.

Stardust
On April 6, 2025, Anthill joined the nation of Stardust.

This shortly led to Consue leaving Cortesia Del Mar.

}}
The Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War was a major military conflict on Horizon's End fought between the forces of the Ilios Alliance and the Republic of Carthage against the pirating nation of Vask Authority, which was materially supported by Vega, in the summer of 2024.

This war was the first conflict in Horizon's End history to see the use of supercapital warships in combat, and established the dominance of starfighters and 500-block tackle gunships in the (post-gunship nerf) 2024 starship combat meta. It was the largest conflict of 2024.

History
Prelude
Andurian Federation
Following the conclusion of the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War on 8 January 2024, RentDueYesterday, a major pirating nation led by FellOffBridge, was re-formed by pqio into the Andurian Federation. Unlike its predecessor or successor, the Andurian Federation presented itself as a respectable participant in server politics, and did not allow its members to engage in unrestrained piracy.

From 11 February 2024, the Andurian Federation engaged in a military conflict with Arimfea, with Imperial Nova intervening on behalf of Arimfea on 26 February. This war ended on 18 April 2024 with a white peace, leaving the Andurian Federation's combat-inclined player-base without anyone to fight.

Three weeks later, on 3 May 2024, pqio formally handed control of the Andurian Federtion back to FellOffBridge, who renamed it first to "HorsemenOfTheVegapocalypse", before settling on "Vask Authority" the following day.

Vask Authority
Under FellOffBridge's leadership, Vask Authority took a more hostile stance towards the rest of the server, adopting a policy of allowing its members to pirate other players on the server as they wished. This was first realized when z4nityy began pirating server-wide on 13 May, followed up soon thereafter by DearGhost doing the same.

As the largest colonist and privateer alliance on the server, the Ilios Alliance served as the primary responders to Vask Authority piracy. Seeking to avoid sparking an all-out war with the whole of Vask Authority, the Alliance settled on a policy of attacking members of Vask Authority only when they were engaging in acts of piracy, seeking to detract from their ability to cause mayhem on the server in this way.

Additionally, on account of a convergence of interests in anti-piracy activity, and viewing the prospect of all-out war with Vask Authority as an increasingly inevitable one, the Ilios Alliance admitted the nations of Imperial Nova and Arimfea as associate members of the alliance on 10 June 2024. This brought the two nations, who had already been combating Vask Authority piracy on their own, under the Ilios Alliance's mutual-defense umbrella, and facilitated coordinated fleet actions between all five alliance members.

11 June Incident
On 11 June 2024, at 12:15PM EDT, DearGhost attacked SammaSystem, a member of Imperial Nova, at her space station in Ilios, killing her in PvP. Novan forces scrambled to hunt down DearGhost in retribution (in accordance with Alliance policy); however, DearGhost quickly fled south to Vask Authority's shielded main space station, Apollyon, and sought refuge inside the structure. Vask Authority leadership _Clone1137 and FellOffBridge had previously declared Apollyon to be off-limits to non-members of Vask Authority, and declared that DearGhost was under Vask Authority protection while inside the station, regardless of the act of piracy he had committed minutes earlier.

The Novan response force elected to assault Apollyon regardless, prompting a fleet battle in which Vask Authority forces directly engaged Ilios Alliance ones. This event is broadly considered to be the start of the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War.

Conflict
Fleet Doctrine
Once formal war began, the fleet doctrines of the Ilios Alliance and Vask Authority quickly solidified.

As of the start of the war, the Ilios Alliance was much better prepared for combat than its predecessor the Horizon Federation, counting among its ranks many skilled SvSers, such as _omni, EloMilo, NovaManGood2110, yodabird19, and _Longy. This enabled the Alliance to attack members of Vask Authority proactively (as opposed to exclusively responding to incidents of piracy). Ilios Alliance combatants sought to leverage their numerical superiority in combat, seeking to ensure that every fight that they took against Vask Authority gave them the numerical advantage, and quickly disengaging from any unfavorable matchup. These incentives produced a fleet doctrine centered on skilled strike teams employing smaller ships than their adversaries, most often starfighters and gunships.

Vask Authority fleet doctrine was nearly diametrically opposed to that of the Alliance. With material support from Vega, whose non-involvement in the war ensured that their industrial output was unimpeded, Vask Authority were able to mint several supercapital warships: cruisers and battlecruisers. These ships offered disproportionate health and firepower per pilot, allowing Vask Authority to partially compensate for their numerical disadvantage. A majority of fleet engagements involving more than one Vask Authority pilot would involve the use of one of their battlecruisers, as these ships were competitive in combat against 2-3 capital ships, and were nearly untouchable for the small ship classes that the Ilios Alliance favored.

These incompatible fleet doctrines resulted in a large number of matchups between Ilios Alliance and Vask Authority forces ending in stalemate, with Ilios Alliance small ships unable to sink Vask Authority supercapitals, and Vask Authority supercapitals unable to catch up to Ilios Alliance small ships.

Battle of Asteri
Battle of Asteri
The Battle of Asteri was the single largest fleet engagement in the war, caused when FellOffBridge released the battlecruiser "ARMAGEDDON" inside a Vask Authority-controlled siege station on 26 June. Ilios Alliance forces attempted to prevent Vask Authority from recovering ARMAGEDDON until the station's siege window re-opened after 22 hours, resulting in Vegan forces intervening on behalf of Vask Authority to flush the Ilios Alliance garrison from the station.

Vegan leadership, in a diplomatic communique to Ilios Alliance leadership 3 hours prior to the battle, claimed that their impending involvement was due to Vask Authority paying them 1,000,000 credits for a mercenary contract, and that they did not want anything to do with the war beyond this, even posting purported private message logs between themselves and Vask Authority leadership as proof. It was subsequently discovered that this premise was a ruse, and that the logs were faked, to justify Vegan involvement without incurring diplomatic consequences. This became known to the Ilios Alliance after they observed z4nityy's payment of 1,000,000 credits to Vandrayk being quietly refunded a few days after the battle; the Battle of Asteri is widely understood among Ilios Alliance members to be the moment at which the true extent of Vegan support for Vask Authority was understood.

The Battle of Asteri was a blowout defeat for the Ilios Alliance, claiming 44,000 blocks' worth of Alliance warships - over 25% of the Alliance's total warship losses across the 7 weeks that the war lasted.

Siege of Cicatrix
Radiance was the largest member of the Ilios Alliance measured by active player count during the war, and its population had relatively few combat- or tech-oriented players. This made Radiance players prime targets for Vask Authority piracy, due to their number and their relative inexperience in defending themselves at the time. This was most acutely realized in the city of Cicatrix, the capital of Radiance, which is located on Aerach, a single jump away from Vask Authority's central operations base of Apollyon in Regulus.

Members of Vask Authority, especially z4nityy, attacked players in Cicatrix frequently over the course of the war, most often killing them on foot in PvP. While the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War is generally not held to have been as damaging to server health as the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War before it, the Cicatrix attacks are typically cited as the most damaging thing to server health that Vask Authority did in the course of the conflict, as Cicatrix (and indeed Radiance as a whole) was (and still is) a major hub of relatively new and non-combat-oriented players, who were liable to be chased off the server by repeated unprovoked attacks.

These attacks resulted in a large number of battles taking place on or outside of Aerach, and a large number of casualties for both the Alliance and Vask Authority. As a majority of Ilios Alliance defenders lived far from Aerach (yodabird19 on Chimgara; _omni on Kovfefe; _Longy and NovaManGood2110 on Aret (opposite the Regulus star from Aerach)), bringing in outside defenders to Cicatrix proved a time-consuming endeavor for the Alliance, leading to several members of Radiance (SmolPotatoLord, Kay_2905, and TonyTheMage_) teaching themselves ship combat in order to defend themselves.

However, the Alliance's ability to punish Vask Authority pirates for attacks on Cicatrix proved limited, as Aerach had a Trade Outpost (Aerost) at the south of the planet, a safezone to which attacking pirates could quickly escape when confronted. This dynamic led to widespread calls among server players for a mechanic that would prevent players in combat from hiding in safezones, ultimately leading to the implementation of the Combat Tag system on 9 November 2024.

Capture of ARMAGEDDON
On 16 July 2024, _omni found himself in a 1v2 engagement against Vask Authority forces in southern Ilios. _omni was piloting a 2,000 block gunship, while FellOffBridge piloted the battlecruiser ARMAGEDDON, and z4nityy pursued him in a starfighter. For unknown reasons, FellOffBridge elected to unpilot his battlecruiser (leaving it active, but immobile) and exit into space on foot, in an attempt to board _omni's ship and kill him in PvP. Instead, however, _omni successfully killed FellOffBridge in the ensuing engagement with a Blaster Shotgun, leaving the battlecruiser ARMAGEDDON unattended.

yodabird19 quickly responded to the situation from Chimgara, sprinting south in a starfighter to assist in capturing the orphaned battlecruiser; by the time he arrived, the battlecruiser had automatically released. While _omni engaged z4nityy in combat to keep him from claiming the battlecruiser, yodabird19 created a 150-block radius station claim called "mogged" to secure the battlecruiser for the Alliance. z4nityy initially protested that, as he was still engaged in combat with _omni, the claim was not valid; however, _omni proceeded to kill z4nityy in PvP as well, conclusively securing ARMAGEDDON for the Ilios Alliance.

The capture of ARMAGEDDON, which was worth over 81 stacks of iron blocks, was the Ilios Alliance's first headline victory in the war. To many in the Alliance, it served as a vindication of the Battle of Asteri, as the capture of ARMAGEDDON had been the object of that battle, which the Alliance had lost.

500 block Gunships
Among the most notable developments in the starship combat meta during the war was the popularization of a new subclass of warship: the 500-block tackle gunship. While this class of ship was known to the server, and had been used before in combat (for example, three of them were involved in the Battle of Asteri), their employment by the Ilios Alliance in the latter weeks of the war proved a decisive divergence from previous SvS doctrine.

yodabird19 is credited with the idea to pivot alliance SvS strategy towards heavy employment of 500s, circa 4 July 2024. As a starfighter main, he observed that a large number of Ilios Alliance strike teams consisted primarily of groups of skilled starfighter players (so-called "starfighter mogsquads") working in concert, and that these teams tended to see the most success; however, as starfighters could not employ Starship Gravity Wells, these teams typically included one 2000-block gunship to provide an allied gravity well to the engagement, which provided a slower and more vulnerable target for Vask Authority opponents to focus on.

A 500 block gunship is the smallest size ship in the game that can still deploy a gravity well; at only 143% the size of a 350-block starfighter, these ships behave more like starfighters than like larger subclasses of gunship: they employ plasma cannons and torpedoes for weapons, have a single shield, and can achieve both cruise and direct control speeds comparable to that of a 350-block ship (~33-35 and 16.9, respectively).

The introduction of 500s to Ilios Alliance fleets - typically one per strike team, in place of a 2K - removed a critical weak spot in Ilios Alliance attack squads, which caused a measurable improvement in Ilios Alliance SvS performance in the latter half of the war. Furthermore, due to being nearly as difficult to kill as a 350-block starfighter, 500s were optimal choices for trapping Vask Authority supercapitals inside gravity wells, preventing them from reaching an ongoing fleet engagement by blocking their access to Hyperspace.

This style of 1:1 removal of players from a fleet engagement was advantageous to the Ilios Alliance, as it favored their numerical advantage.

Sinking of CATACLYSM
CATACLYSM was sunk in a fleet battle on 26 July 2024 by NovaManGood2110, _Longy, Vortexion, _omni, LuvaCz, and ItsAlreadyGold, with _omni claiming the kill. Vask Authority combatants included FellOffBridge and _Clone1137.

Peace Negotiations
At 2:49PM EDT on 26 July 2024, approximately 1 hour after the sinking of the battlecruiser CATACLYSM, Vegan diplomats reached out on behalf of Vask Authority, offering an immediate cease-fire to the war and terms of white peace between the Ilios Alliance and Vask Authority. Based on chat logs obtained in the Vask Authority Leak, it is understood that the impetus for this offer of peace was a consensus among members of Vask Authority, spurred on by the sinking of CATACLYSM (which represented the first time Ilios Alliance forces defeated a Vask Authority supercapital in fair combat, and the first supercapital sink in server history), that Vask Authority's small group of elite combat players would not be able to keep up in the future with the Ilios Alliance's growing war proficiency. As Vandrayk put it in his opening statement during negotiations:
VA is looking to negotiate peace and end the war. They are tired of fighting with uneven odds and have no allies other than Vega to rely on, which we are obviously not looking to join in the war so we advised for surrender. After the second lost BC today, I think that it is reparation enough for the toll of the war on top of the other you guys already took. I propose In regards to the end of the war:
-Full peace for both sides, neither side shall attack the other
-Stations remain as they are as of now (similar if not the same to how they were at start of the war)
Vegan diplomats implied that they intended to strongarm the Ilios Alliance (who very much did not want to risk a conflict with Vega) into accepting these terms of peace, stating, "if you're unwilling to give peace against an enemy who has surrendered, there will be a larger discussion that has an ending that nobody wants". It was later revealed in the leak that the intent of these peace terms was to give the Ilios Alliance time to create their own supercapital warfleet, which would give Vega an excuse to directly involve themselves in a subsequent war against the Alliance.

A cease-fire was declared between the Ilios Alliance and Vask Authority on 29 July 2024, to allow for negotiations to progress. Negotiations stalled, however, as the Ilios Alliance were hesitant to accept terms that they believed would simply set them up for another war a few months in the future. The negotiations ended up being moot, however, as on 4 August 2024, the Vask Authority Leak resulted in FellOffBridge, _Clone1137, and Vandrayk all being permanently banned from the server (which compounded with a previous ban against DearGhost for exploiting), crippling Vask Authority as a fighting force, and restoring Vega to more friendly leadership.

z4nityy, as the sole active participant in Vask Authority not to be banned from the server, ended the cease-fire and resumed solo pirating under the Vask Authority banner, which continues to the present.

Legacy
The end of the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War marked the beginning of a distinct political era of server history, characterized by unipolar political dominance of the Ilios Alliance, commonly referred to as the Long Peace. This period of reduced conflict on Horizon's End lasted approximately half a year, until the start of the Vega-Nova War in March 2025.
Extractors (crafting tables) are power outputs; you can place them next to the noteblock of a powered machine to move 1000 power out of it every second. Noteblocks are power inputs; if power reaches the noteblock of a machine, it will charge that machine.

There is a common misconception that power can only be extracted from generators or banks, which have crafting tables as part of the multiblock. This is incorrect - as long as a machine has power and a noteblock, if you place a crafting table next to that multiblock, you can move power out of that machine.

(Visualization of power being drawn out of ship factory)

Pathfinding
Understanding how power flows through wires - how it finds a path to its destination - is essential for making networks that work quickly and don't waste power.

(Visualization of a crossroads with a sponge)

When power reaches a crossroads, where it can go in multiple directions, it chooses one direction at random. When it hits a dead end, pathfinding fails, and no power is transmitted.

(Visualization of basic solar panel network)

Take, for example, this solar panel network. When power gets into the line of sponges, it can go either left or right. If it goes right, it reaches a dead end, and pathfinding fails. This means that half the power from the solars is wasted! We could fix this by connecting one end back around to the noteblock, like so:

(Visualization of solar with a loop back around)

However, this can get complicated very quickly. Instead, we can use redstone or lapis blocks.
+
Redstone
Lapis

Redstone blocks receive power from sponges or wires, but only output energy to wires.
Lapis blocks receive power from sponges and wires, but only output energy to sponges
Redstone and lapis are also directional, meaning they will always move power in a straight line if they can.

(Directionality visualization)

For a more in-depth guide for how to optimize your pathfinding, check out S1ice's General Guide to Wiring.

Noteblock Mechanics
Similarly to how hoppers and chests work with pipe pathfinding, when power checks a noteblock, the pathfinding does not terminate. This means that although an extractor only moves 1k power a second into a target noteblock, it can charge multiple noteblocks at the same time. This allows you to move extremely large amounts of power around very quickly.

Peregri: Updated wording to specify that panes *attempt* to move items in straight direction

Pipes are a method of quickly moving items between containers. All pipe networks will have 4 main components: an input container, an extractor (crafting table), a length of pipes (Glass or stained glass), and an output container.

Basics
When an extractor and pipes are connected to a container, it will try to take items out of that container and move them down the pipe to another container. Items will not move from one colored pipe to a differently colored one.

Containers can be almost anything that holds items; this includes chests, barrels, droppers, dispensers, furnaces, and even decorated pots - but not hoppers.

When a pipe extracts items from a furnace, it extracts from the furnace output. When a pipe leads into a furnace, it will try to place items into both the bottom and top slots, but will only place items you can normally place into furnaces into them.

Pipe transfer is instant - the server moves as much as it possibly can from the input to the output in a single moment. It is impossible for you to lose an item in the middle of it going through a pipe.

Filtering
Hoppers act as filters in a pipe network. A hopper will behave similarly to a pipe, taking in items from adjacent pipes, except that only items that are in the hopper will flow through it, and they will always flow the way the spout of the hopper is pointing.

Pipes do not put items into hoppers, nor do they take items out of hoppers - the hopper acts strictly as a filter.

Hoppers can filter custom items - for example, ores like chetherite. They can also filter items that would not normally stack, such as swords or boats.

The more advanced version of a hopper is a Splitter, which can handle far more items. This is particularly useful for when one wants to filter junk out of their pipe network and into an Incinerator.

Pathfinding
A very important detail for pipes is pathfinding. When the server is deciding where items should go in a pipe, and it comes to a crossroads where items could flow either way, it chooses one of those paths at random. This means that if your pipe system has lots of places where the glass splits and goes 2 different ways, your pipes will slow down a lot.
+
BAD
GOOD

In this pipe system, items that enter from the leftmost chest hit a junction multiple times going down the pipe. If the pathfinding chooses to turn right instead of going straight at any of these points, the items will run into a dead end and have nowhere to go. With 5 junctions, this means pathfinding only succeeds 1/32 times. (Items transfer 32x slower)
In this pipe system, the junctions are gone, and items will move through much faster. For every chest other than the leftmost, there is a 50% chance the pathfinding will turn left instead of right and hit a dead end, but these pipes will still be quite fast.
With the above example, the slowdown is small - it only takes a few seconds to work properly. However, every dead-end between the input and output doubles the time needed, and in large pipe networks, it quickly becomes way too slow. Thankfully, there are a few ways we can resolve ambiguity in our pipe systems.

Grindstones
Grindstones act like pipes, but will always transmit items in the way they are facing. Grindstones are the easiest and most popular method for resolving ambiguous junctions in pipes.

Panes
Panes accept and give items to glass of the same color, and also work as pipes - however, they don't work the exact same. When items flowing through a pane reach a junction, they will always try to keep moving straight first before turning. This can be very useful when you want items to move a certain way, but be careful! If your pane pipes are made poorly, they might end up never extracting correctly.
+
GOOD
BAD

This system will be just as efficient as the earlier "good" piping example. None of the junctions will interrupt pathfinding because the panes will always move items in a straight direction if they can.
When pathfinding reaches the intersection at the end, it will always attempt to move the items straight, and never turn left to go to the top chest. This means that the top chest will never receive any items.

Panes can be good for performing proper junk filtering without a Splitter. Namely, if a pane checks a hopper and sees that it does not match the items being moved, pathfinding will not terminate. This allows us to ensure that all desired items are filtered and the trash goes to the Incinerator without needing specific filters for the trash.

Seen to the right is such a system. For each zig-zag, the pane will attempt to move items in the same way items entered that pane, resulting in the hopper being checked. If the item does not match that hopper, it will continue down the system. This ensures that we always filter out what we want from this system - if we did not force the system to check each hopper, valuable items might not pathfind to the filters, and could instead get funneled into our incinerator.

This system will be just as efficient as the earlier "good" piping example. None of the junctions will interrupt pathfinding because the panes will always move items in a straight direction.
In this system, the bottom output chest will fill up, and the top chest will never receive items.
The Republic of Cortesia Del Mar, or CDM, is a large nation on Horizon's End. Cortesia Del Mar is a nation focused on building, industrialism, democracy, and technological expertise. Its sitting President is CommradePotatoe, whose political goals center on enhancing the nation's internal dynamism, and recruiting new players to the nation. Cortesia possesses three major cities with active populations: its capital of Setra Maria, its sole trade city of Cadia, and the Anthill, which is a large build project.

Cortesia Del Mar is a member of the Ilios Alliance, and maintains positive or neutral diplomatic relations with most nations on the server. Cortesia Del Mar is distinguished by having the largest industrial base on the server, which it uses primarily to bankroll a wide array of both its own and its allies' building and industrial projects.

Claims
Cities
Cadia
Cadia
The City of Cadia is a Trade City on the planet Ilius, led by Vortexion. It is a large city, with the distinctive feature that the entire city is situated on a series of floating platforms, positioned above Lake Peigneur. These platforms include a large, central trade platform (which hosts the city's importer, exporter, and bazaar), three residential platforms, three shipyard platforms, and several assorted others.
Cadia is the closest city on the server to Spawn, and as such serves as a frequent tourism and business destination for new players. The city offers free housing at the residential platforms, including to non-residents.

Setra Maria
Setra Maria
The City of Setra Maria is a city on the planet Chimgara, led by the sitting Cortesian President. It is the legal capital of Cortesia Del Mar, with a distinctive dense urban building style. Its distinctive structures include the National Forum building, the Interior Ministry building, the server's oldest hockey rink, and the Setra Maria homeless encampment. Pursuant to its status as the capital, Setra Maria guarantees admission to all residents and citizens of Cortesia Del Mar.
Setra Maria is connected by both iceroad and item pipe to the Woolworths Production Complex, and as such serves as the port for Cortesia's industrial activity.

The Anthill
Anthill
The Anthill is a combination city and artistic project on the planet Aret, led by Consue. It is a large, intricate mega-build mixing Arabian and cyberpunk build themes, which serves as an indefinite artistic project for its participants. The Anthill is wrapped around a central trade tower, which is built out of several thousand aluminum blocks.
Admission to the Anthill project comes with complementary build tutoring by Consue.

Additional Settlements
Woolworths
Woolworths Production Complex
Woolworths is a land claim housing the Woolworths Production Complex, which is the server's largest industrial complex. It sits roughly one kilometer east of Setra Maria, and is connected to it by iceroad. The Woolworths Production Complex itself is off-limits to non-allies of Cortesia Del Mar, or those who have not been specifically granted access.

Stations
Elysium
Elysium is a small space station in northwestern Regulus, owned by the settlement Cadia and built by Vortexion. It is the server's oldest space station, and during the server's first months served as an important base of operations for the nation of Arimfea. As of the present, Elysium is disused, and is preserved by Cadia as an historical site.

Fortitude
Fortitude is a medium space station in northern Regulus, owned by the settlement Cadia and built by Vortexion. Its structure consists of two protruding docking arms to its east and west, affixed to a central living hub. Fortitude has a working redstone casino, a domed grassy park, and a large wall of player heads obtained in Arimfea's wars.
Like Elysium, Fortitude was also formerly an Arimfean station, and served as a crucial center of activity for the nation until the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War. It is still in use by Cortesia Del Mar.

Seraph
Seraph is a large space station in southern Sirius, owned by the settlement Cadia and built by Vortexion and nungal. It is primarily an aesthetic build, with extensively decorated interiors spanning the full height of its mostly-vertical structure. Positioned inside of Seraph's main hall is the a captured Vegan gunship once used by ClownPierce, whose death sparked the Alliance of Regulus-Vega War of 2023.

Politics
Cortesia Del Mar's system of government is distinguished by its depth and complexity. The nation, which titles itself "The Republic of Cortesia Del Mar", is governed by a presidential republican political system, the form of which is set out in the Constitution of Cortesia Del Mar, a legal document which is over 100 pages long.

The national government of Cortesia Del Mar consists of the following bodies:
* The President and Vice President, who are elected together on a four-month cycle every February, June, and October,*
* The Cabinet, a body of specialized Ministers consisting of the President, the Vice President, and the Ministers of Security, Foreign Affairs, and the Interior, who are appointed by the President and have varying specific duties,
* The National Forum, a general legislative body whose members are elected individually for indefinite terms, which is empowered to pass laws within the nation, and
* The Supreme Court, a judicial body empowered to decide civil and criminal court cases, and to review the constitutionality of laws, elected on a four-month cycle every April, and August, and December.

"The Vegapocalypse" is a term used to refer to a hypothetical major military conflict, involving Vega attacking a majority of the rest of Horizon's End.

History
The term was coined by NovaManGood2110 of the Horizon Federation in the late days of the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War. NovaManGood2110 describes,
It started when I was schitzo [sic] ranting about an upcoming war to adelie
because I saw vega ramping up war production and pushing combat related updates

The term itself is a direct reflection of the experiences of the Activity Crisis. That the involvement of Vega, backed by advantageous combat updates such as the introduction supercapitals would ruin the server. The term was thus commonly used as a counterweight whenever the question of combat came up and supercapitals themselves where viewed with a great deal of scrutiny and suspicion.

While no large-scale conflict involving Vega has occurred since the coining of this term (AssassinXX of Vega states, "saying it already happened would be misinformation"), some players on the server, including NovaManGood2110 himself, believe that the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War constituted the closest thing to a "Vegapocalypse" to occur on Horizon's End in 2024, as Vask Authority was given substantial material backing (and one singular case of direct military intervention) from Vega to prosecute war against the Ilios Alliance, who composed the majority of the server's colonists and privateers.

Legacy
In modern times, the threat of a "Vegapocalypse" is not held to be as prominent as it was in early 2024, on account of the Long Peace. Instead, the term is typically used in a humorous fashion, and is often parodied by other nations (ex. "Novapocalypse", "Cortesiapocalypse", etc).

Solesey of Vega states, "vegapocalypse is just a thing you guys invented and then we started pretending it was real to scare you guys".
RentDueYesterday or RDY was a major pirating nation on Horizon's End, active in the latter third of 2023. The nation was founded by K9_Caper and FellOffBridge to be a completely aggressive, no-strings-attached pirate nation, and is widely considered to be the predecessor to Vask Authority.

History
Following a lack of activity in their current nation of Arimfea, K9_Caper and FellOffBridge jointly founded RDY to get away from politics to make unrestricted piracy easier. However, just days into the nation's existence, then-leader K9_Caper left the nation to join Imperial Nova, leaving FellOffBridge to lead for the remainder of RDY's existence. FellOffBridge would recruit more like-minded pirates like AdelieXY, who would later become co-leader of the nation.

While RDY had originally intended to stay neutral with Arimfea, conflict quickly broke out after FellOffBridge led a group of combatants to Arimfea-held Fortitude Station and allowed them to sink his ship into it. This was intended to bring Arimfea into the war, as Vortexion had declared that Fortitude was a conflict-free zone and threatened any who attacked there, but when Vortexion instead blamed FellOffBridge for intentionally causing the issue, conflict ignited between the two.

RentDueYesterday gained considerable size for a nation of its nature, being regarded as the second large "true" pirate nation on HE (after early Echelon). On 6 October 2023, RDY formed an alliance with Vega, after the leaders of the two nations, FellOffBridge and Vandrayk became good friends. This granted RDY's considerable fighting force access to technology and ship designs comparable to that of Vega, who were by most measures the most technologically and militarily advanced nation on the server at the time. This combination made RDY an extremely potent piracy force, to the point that other nations felt it necessary to create the largest alliance in server history, the Horizon Federation, to combat it.

RentDueYesterday's campaign of piracy caused considerable upset among the colonist playerbase of Horizon's End, leading to reduced server activity, and mounting calls for an urgent solution to the conflict. RDY member GenBukkit considered himself part of a problem, and seceded from the nation in October 2023. After certain leaders of the Horizon Federation threatened to stop their members playing the server, Vega dropped out of the war on 7 December 2023. One month later, suffering from boredom among key members of the nation, RDY leader FellOffBridge handed ownership of the nation over to pqio on 8 January 2024; pqio reformed the nation into the second iteration of the Andurian Federation, marking the end of RentDueYesterday.

Legacy
RentDueYesterday's reign is considered a blemish on the server's history due to both the involvement of Vega, who sought retribution against many Horizon Federation members for their technical defeat at the hands of its predecessor, the Alliance of Regulus, and the relentless nature of the attacks carried out by RDY.

RDY is often used as a meter-stick against which other player groups perceived to denigrate server health are measured, and is considered by many to be the archetypical example of pointless combat.
yodabird19, a major participant in the Horizon Federation, said on 8 December 2024:
RDY especially did a fantastic job of illustrating to everybody just how pointless and interminable war and combat is on this server, [in my opinion]
it doesn't matter whether you fight back or don't, nothing you can do (ingame) will actually bring a war any closer to ending
why would anybody log on to fight a war they neither asked for nor can do anything to end?

Claims
Cities
VegaAirTraffickControl
VegaAirTraffickControl
The settlement of FellOffBridge located on Aret, mostly left empty and used as a forward operating base against Imperial Nova.

Aschonia
Aschonia
Aschonia belonged to AdelieXY in the southwest corner of Vask, and was RDY's real capital and base of operations, where most of RDY's items and fleets were housed, it later seceded from RDY in a fake defection to Imperial Nova as AdelieXY decided to become a spy for RDY and Vega.

HMS Raleigh
HMS Raleigh
The settlement of _Clone1137 that stored a portion of RDY's resources closeby to Aschonia, giving RDY definitive control over Vask.

Stations
Politics
RentDueYesterday only allied itself with Vega and TriadCorp, the latter of which was mostly an extension of RDY, any other nation was seen as a target for RDY and Vega to attack. RDY only offered surrender under special and embarrassing terms as to discourage anyone from doing so. RDY's alliance with Vega allowed its shipbuilders FellOffBridge and AdelieXY to greatly improve their designs, resulting in the first nation to have ships considered somewhat comparable to Vega. This large gap in ship quality, with aggressive, skilled pilots and numbers allowed RDY to bully most of the server in combat, going as far as launching ground attacks on the capital cities of members of the Horizon Federation.

RDY had no real politics by design, as it was never meant to get along with the rest of the nations on HE, seeking only combat.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

The Anemone is a small settlement formed by KBUSJ and is primarily based in the Ilios star system. It is part of the nation Radiance and member of the Ilios Alliance.
The settlement's economy revolves around building, industrialism, trading, and ship design.

The Anemone is known for being one of the first settlements to have its primary base in space.

History
Prelude
Shortly after joining the nation Shadow, KBUSJ established the spacestation TradePostAlpha on December 12th, 2023. This station would later become the primary living space and trading hub for the Anemone settlement.

KBUSJ was a member of the settlement Thieveshaven and later Cicatrix (after the Radiant Revolution) before founding his own settlement.

Founding
On July 14, 2024, KBUSJ founded the settlement Anemone in Mora Sul on Aerach. This territory, located west of Cicatrix, was intended to serve as a buffer zone for the Radiant Capital.

Although initially planned solely for territorial purposes, a small operational base was soon constructed in Mora Sul, marking the settlement's development.

Establishing Presence
Once it was decided that the settlement was here to stay, a logo was designed represented a fish.
TradePostAlpha was renamed to AnemonePrime, and additional satellite structures were designed to orbit the station.

Anemone recruited its first new member in November 2024.

Bases
Space Stations
Anemone Prime
Anemone Prime is the primary base of operations for the Anemone Settlement, located in the Ilios star system at coordinates x21300 z39500.

The station is built within an iron asteroid, where space has been carved out of the rock to install essential infrastructure.
Anemone Prime is a multifaceted base, containing various facilities such as:

*multiple hangars
*shipyards
*(as of yet unfinished) living quarters with a capacity for up to eight people
*a datacenter
*a bunker
*a basic factory
Satellite stations, currently under construction, will serve as farms and include a Dodgeball game arena.

Land claim
Mora Sul
Located on Aerach around coordinates x2000 z1000, Mora Sul serves as a buffer zone west of Cicatrix.

The region features a small collection of containers that provide residence, infrastructure, and storage, creating a functional home-away-from-home near the capital.

The claim's geography is characterized by a central lake situated at the bottom of a valley.

Ship design
Fish Line
The fish line is a collection of cargo ships, built by KBUSJ.
These ships are named for their resemblance to fish and sea creatures, a characteristic that, while often unintentional, has become their signature feature.

The Fish Line ships are easily recognizable by their distinct shapes and the colorful containers attached to their exteriors, used to transport crates and other goods.
