The article expressly states that one of the defining characteristics of the Long Peace was the geopolitical primacy of the Ilios Alliance. Considering that its dissolution happened in the same week as the start of the Nova-Vega war, I felt it relevant to include as it is another event which marked a notable change from the preceding geopolitical regime.
